ABIDJAN, COTE D’IVOIRE – American technology company Cybastion, in partnership with the US Embassy, will host a technology camp during the Easter holidays to equip young people across Côte d’Ivoire with world-class digital and cybersecurity skills. This free technology camp will take place on April 17 and April 22-24 at five American Spaces in Côte d’Ivoire.

The DigiEmpower initiative, a partnership between US technology companies Cybastion and Cisco and the government of Côte d’Ivoire, aims to train 200,000 young people across Africa by 2030. By 2030, Côte d’Ivoire’s workforce will need approximately 5 million workers with digital skills.

The technology courses offered by the Cisco Networking Academy will provide participants with practical, in-demand skills to prepare them for careers in the public, private, and technology sectors.

Participants will be able to enroll in basic computer hardware, introductory cybersecurity, and introductory Internet of Things and digitalization courses. Students will have the option to take one or all of the courses during the holidays. Upon completion of the courses, students will receive Cisco-certified digital badges to boost their career opportunities.

“Côte d’Ivoire is undergoing a rapid digital transformation. The Easter tech camps will provide young Ivorians with the digital skills needed to succeed in today’s digital economy,” said Dr. Thierry Wandji, CEO of Cybastion. “We are grateful to partner with the US Embassy to expand our reach and make digital training more accessible in both urban and rural communities.”

“This partnership between the US Embassy, Cybastion, and Cisco highlights the strength of US private sector engagement in Côte d’Ivoire, driving innovation and economic growth, fostering prosperity in both our countries,” said Ambassador Jessica Davis Ba. “By leveraging trusted American brands like Cisco, we strengthen our partnerships and advance our shared priorities.”

The technology camp will take place in the following American Spaces:

  • Andrew Young Center for Entrepreneurship, ABIDJAN
  • American Center, ABIDJAN
  • American Space University Félix Houphouët-Boigny, Cocody, ABIDJAN
  • American Space INP-HB, YAMOUSSOUKRO
