Cybastion, in partnership with the US Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire, officially kicked off the DigiEmpower Easter Break Tech Camp with a celebratory opening ceremony with US Ambassador Jessica Davis Ba and Cybastion CEO Thierry Wandji .
Opening ceremony participants also included Dr. Patrick Fouda , Cybastion Managing Partner for Education, and Theya Foundation Executive Director Dr. Genevieve Fouda , and the foundation’s team.
Opening April 17, the free tech camp will run from April 22–24. The tech camps, hosted at five American Spaces across Côte d’Ivoire, offer hands-on training in “Computer Hardware Basics”, “Introduction to Cybersecurity”, and “Introduction to IoT and Digitalization” through Cisco Networking Academy. Students who successfully complete one or all courses will receive Cisco-verified digital badges.
With an estimated 5 million digital jobs needed in Côte d’Ivoire by 2030, DigiEmpower—a partnership between Cybastion, Cisco, and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire— is an ambitious initiative that aims to train 200,000 young people and women across the country within five years.
