Top U.S. and African government officials and senior executives from U.S. financial institutions and African counterparts gathered on Apr. 25 to explore actionable strategies to scale investment in Africa’s digital ecosystem, including information and communication technology (ICT), energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and Institutional Investor Network (IIN), the high-level roundtable focused on unlocking capital through innovative financing models and customized risk mitigation strategies. Cybastion was a sponsor of the roundtable.
The closed door roundtable offered investment strategies to deepen U.S.-Africa economic engagement through public-private partnerships and global development institutions like the International Financial Corp (IFC).
Investors emphasized the growing urgency to finance infrastructure critical to Africa’s digital transformation and energy transition, especially as demand for broadband access, data storage, and energy security increases across the continent.
Key outcomes of the session included identifying high-potential investment opportunities across strategic sectors, developing risk mitigation strategies tailored to African markets, and presenting innovative financing tools such as blended finance, public-private partnerships, and impact investing.
Participants also offered policy recommendations aimed at improving regulatory frameworks to create a more enabling environment for private sector investment.
