LIBREVILLE, Gabon — June 28, 2025 — His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Republic of Gabon, presided today over the signing of a historic agreement between the Government of Gabon, the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF), and U.S.-based technology company Cybastion.
Led by Cybastion, in partnership with Cisco, Citibank, and EXIM, the agreement is part of Cybastion’s flagship Digital Fast Track initiative. The partnership sets Gabon on a bold path toward achieving digital sovereignty through the development of a state-of-the-art sovereign data center, enhanced cybersecurity infrastructure, and expanded access to digital tools—including a national digital ID platform.
The commercial agreement was signed by Gabon’s Minister of Economy and Finance Henri-Claude Oyima and Cybastion’s Senior Vice President, Scott Blacklin. Mr. Blacklin praised the vision of the Head of State, whom he described as “a builder committed to the sustainable transformation of Gabon”.
To meet the demand for a digitally skilled workforce, Cybastion, in partnership with the Cisco Networking Academy, will train more than 1,000 Gabonese young people and women with digital skills to support the country’s growing digital economy.
“Cybastion and our consortium of U.S. partners are proud to support the Government of Gabon and ANINF in advancing the country’s journey toward digital sovereignty,” said Dr. Thierry Wandji, CEO of Cybastion. “We are committed to building secure, resilient, and reliable digital ecosystems that fuel innovation, drive economic growth, and ensure long-term prosperity.”
This historic agreement reflects Gabon’s vision of becoming a globally competitive digital ecosystem in the region – and a true model for secure, innovative, and inclusive digital transformation in Africa.
