The American Tech Hub was buzzing with excitement as Burkina Faso’s President Captain Ibrahim Traoré visited the interactive booth on the opening day of Digital Week in Ouagadougou. The president was accompanied by H.E. Dr. Aminata Zerbo-Sabane, Minister of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications.

U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso Joann M. Lockard joined the Cybastion team in welcoming the high-level presidential delegation to this dynamic space, where public and private sector leaders, U.S. tech partners, local entrepreneurs and students connect.

From the moment visitors step into the American Tech Hub, they are immersed in a hands-on experience built around the pillars of Cybastion’s Digital Fast Track program — digital solutions, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and education and training — that support Burkina Faso’s digital ambitions.

The journey begins in the Education and Digital Solutions Zone, where visitors gain insight into digitalization such as online payment platforms and digital training and education opportunities for IT professionals and young people alike.

From there, visitors move into the Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Zone, the backbone of a country’s digital future. Using virtual reality (VR) headsets, they discover how sovereign data centers and cybersecurity solutions protect national data assets and support Burkina Faso’s vision for digital sovereignty.

The journey ends in the Networking and Innovation Zone, where visitors exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities in Burkina Faso’s digital transformation. The space also serves as a vibrant symbol of strong U.S.-Africa tech partnership featuring U.S. and local partners Entrust, Uptime Institute; Vertiv, and OPEN SI.
