As African countries take the lead in shaping their national digital transformation agendas, Mr. Samba Diouf, Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, outlined the country’s bold vision under its “New Deal Technologique" strategy.
The President of the Republic of Senegal, His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, unveiled on October 14, 2024, the National Transformation Agenda (NTA), a new strategic framework for the country’s economic and social policies.
Anchored in Senegal Vision 2050, the Agenda aims to build “a sovereign, just, and prosperous nation.” On February 24, 2025, President Faye launched the “New Deal Technologique”, the digital pillar of the National Transformation Agenda – Senegal Vision 2050.
The “New Deal Technologique” is Senegal’s national digital transformation strategy. It aims to accelerate the country’s digital revolution by modernizing public administration, fostering inclusive economic growth, and strengthening national digital sovereignty.
The strategy is built around four key priorities: digital sovereignty, the digitalization of public services, the development of the digital economy, and positioning Senegal as a leading digital nation in Africa.
Hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center in Washington, U.S. U.S. government leaders, Senegalese minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, with his delegation, U.S industry executives, and tech partners convened for the U.S.–Senegal Executive Dialogue on July 1, to highlight Senegal’s digital priorities and investment opportunities for long-term collaboration.
Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs M. Samba Diouf presented Senegal’s vision for digital transformation, driven by the “New Deal Technologique”, as well as the Government’s ambitions to make digital technology a key lever for economic development and the modernization of the State.
At the conclusion of the dialogue, Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs and Cybastion CEO Dr. Thierry Wandji signed a partnership agreement to support the ministry’s efforts to advance a unified digital transformation framework. This agreement will contribute to the realization of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal’s vision for digital transformation.
Cybastion, as a systems integrator, will lead a consortium of U.S. technology companies to deploy digital infrastructure solutions in Senegal.
