Cybastion officially opened the Gabon office on January 27, at a launch event in Libreville, marking a strong commitment to advancing the country’s bold vision for digital sovereignty and the launch of Africa DigiEmpower, an ambitious continent-wide digital workforce initiative.
High-level Gabonese officials and U.S. private sector leaders were in attendance at the launch event.
Antonia Oliveira, Managing Director of the Gabon Office, presented an overview of the company’s digital transformation projects in Gabon and emphasized the digital training program’s goal of equipping Gabonese young people with in-demand tech skills and a pathway to careers in the digital economy.
“This event marks more than a program launch. It reflects a deep conviction that human capital is the primary infrastructure for digital development in Africa,” said Oliveira.
Anchored by a sovereign data center, Cybastion will deliver digital transformation projects through its Digital Fast Track program to strengthen Gabon’s digital infrastructure, enhance national cybersecurity capacity, and expand access to advanced digital solutions.
In Gabon, Africa DigiEmpower will offer free, accredited training courses through Cisco Networking Academy, including AI, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and other in-demand tech fields.
Africa DigiEmpower is administered by the THEYA Foundation, Cybastion’s philanthropic organization, in partnership with Gabon’s Agence Nationale des Infrastructures Numériques et des Fréquences (ANINF).
Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, Director General of ANINF, highlighted the agency’s role and partnership in supporting the delivery of training programs and tech camps across the country.
During the event, Fatima Kourouma, Program Manager for the THEYA Foundation, gave a presentation on Africa DigiEmpower and announced the official opening of the registration website to enable participants to enroll in upcoming training programs.
