Artificial intelligence is driving digital transformation and modernizing public and private services. AI presents an opportunity for African countries to boost their country’s global competitiveness, optimize public governance, and foster sustainable economic growth.
The Government of Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Digitization hosted the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence on May 19 in Abidjan, to explore leveraging AI for sustainable development; establishing regulatory and ethical frameworks; and strengthening innovation and AI skills and capacities.
Cybastion COO Andre Biyong participated in the panel, “AI Skills Development: What Efforts Are Being Made to Train the Talents of Today and Tomorrow?”, where he spoke about how Cybastion is strategically leveraging AI across all levels of its digital transformation projects and empowering youth with AI skills.
Biyong spoke about collective role of the public and private sectors and community in advancing AI skills to ensure that the continent is ready to lead in the global digital economy.
“The fruits of digitalization are ready to bloom, but it requires significant effort from both public administrations and businesses,” said Biyong.
Cybastion is committed to equipping youth with the AI and digital skills required to thrive in an AI-driven future. The #DigiEmpower Workforce Training Program, a partnership between Cybastion, Cisco, and the Ivorian government, has organized AI tech camps across the country to build foundational and applied skills in artificial intelligence.
