Gabon’s President Brice Oligui Nguema invited the U.S. private sector to explore investment opportunities in Gabon, citing his administration’s commitment to enhancing its business environment and transforming Gabon into a regional business hub.
Speaking at the U.S.-Gabon investment roundtable on Oct. 1 hosted by the U.S.-Africa Business Center at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, President Nguema said the roundtable symbolized a new era of U.S. investment in Gabon and pledged to strengthen diplomatic and commercial ties between the Central African nation and the United States.
Key areas of focus:
1️⃣ Strategic access to natural resources, particularly in the Congo Basin.
2️⃣ Supporting youth entrepreneurship and startups to drive innovation, and empowering women’s workforce participation.
3️⃣ Expanding technological and digital access and building a strong digital infrastructure.
Ambassador Vernelle Trim FitzPatrick, U.S. Ambassador to Gabon, highlighted Gabon’s development progress and underscored the importance of strengthening U.S.-Gabon relations. Following the roundtable, Cybastion and the Government of Gabon signed an investment partnership agreement aimed at building a strong digital infrastructure that accelerates entrepreneurship, economic growth, and modernization efforts in the country.
